Bruce Aerospace Selected For EL AL 737-800 Fleet LED Cabin Lighting System Retrofit


Bruce Aerospace has been selected by EL AL to supply the interior LED Cabin Lighting System for the EL AL 737-800 fleet retrofit and upgrade project for enhanced passenger experience.


After an intensive evaluation, EL AL has selected the Bruce Aerospace Bi-Color System not only due to the fact it is already STC certified on the 737-800 platform but for its capability to be installed as a “Plug & Play” solution.


The installation of the “plug & play” LED fixtures can be easily accomplished using the existing wiring and controls. With long LED life providing significant reliability improvements, EL AL will save costs on labor & materials for lamp replacements, not to mention savings on disposal of “hazardous lamps”. Additionally, such new lighting products are saving weight and reducing electrical power consumption.


EL AL has also selected other Bruce Aerospace PMA LED ancillary lighting products including drop in replacements for reading lights, Galley and Entry Lights, PSU lights, Exit Signs and Exit Identifiers, and Lavatory Lighting.


The full 737-800 product line offers EL AL drop-in replacements for the previous fluorescent and incandescent lighting fixtures, which enhances the cabin experience with environmentally friendly and cost reducing Bruce Aerospace LED fixtures.


Bruce Aerospace offers state-of-the-art lighting solutions for the cabin interior, along with emergency, information and exit signs for nearly all commercial aircraft.

Bruce Aerospace confirmed as Air Transat LED mood lighting supplier


Bruce Aerospace is now supplying Air Transat with its Direct Fit LED cabin mood lighting system for its A330 aircraft in both Classic and Enhanced Cabin configurations.


We trialled the system last month. Watch our video on Youtube for a demonstration.


The Air Transat lighting setup has a customer-programmable, high-resolution 10-bit operating system, providing rich colours tailored to suit the airline’s brand. The system was also simple to implement, as the existing wiring, connectors, and mounting provisions were retained for the install. In addition, the LED life of 60,000+ hours virtually eliminates maintenance.

Germania receives innovative LED lighting system for Boeing 737 jets: 08th April 2013.


BERLIN / HAMBURG (w & p) - 8 April 2013 - Cabin in a new light: All the Germania Boeing 737 jets are the future go with an innovative LED lighting system. The Berlin airline and American lighting manufacturers Bruce Aerospace have entered into an agreement. After all Boeing 737 aircraft are equipped with an innovative "plug and play" LED system. It includes not only a two-colored ceiling lighting in blue and white, new "Sidewall Lights."


The Air Transat lighting setup has a customer-programmable, high-resolution 10-bit operating system, providing rich colours tailored to suit the airline’s brand. The system was also simple to implement, as the existing wiring, connectors, and mounting provisions were retained for the install. In addition, the LED life of 60,000+ hours virtually eliminates maintenance.

The Berlin airline is the launch customer for the new product "XLume ™ LED Boeing 737NG" by Bruce Aerospace world. Late last week, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had issued the so-called "Supplementary Type Certificate" (STC) for the light system, which is necessary as the official approval for the retrofitting of Boeing jets.


With a service life of approximately 60,000 hours per LED light component Germania achieved by the new lighting system not only savings in comparison to the previous labor and material costs for replacement of conventional lights. At the same time, the Boeing jets are still more fuel efficient way, since less jet fuel is consumed by a lower weight of the lighting system and lower power consumption.


The retrofitting of Boeing aircraft with an innovative LED lighting system is one of Berlin's numerous investments in their airline fleet. Last year, Germania had already announced the installation more convenient "Piuma" seats of the Italian Geven manufacturer. It is extra lightweight seats of the latest generation, which are very light and comfortable. In addition, Boeing jets receive a digital in-flight entertainment system in HD quality.
